Program Overview
This training introduces the IEC 62443 standards and their practical use in industrial cybersecurity. The course blends theoretical foundations with exercises to help you apply the standard in real-world scenarios.
The program starts with key concepts:
- IEC 62443 structure and lifecycle coverage
- Common OT cyber threats and security mechanisms
- IT/OT integration challenges
- Industrial models: ISA-95 and OSI
Participants then dive into:
- Responsibilities of asset owners (IEC 62443-2-1)
- Secure development practices (IEC 62443-4-1)
- Description of the security practices (SM, SRs, SD, SI, SVV, DM, SUM, SG), examples of audit questions and required lifecycle documentation
- Exercise: Applying 62443-4-1 in practice
Risk and architecture design follow:
- Risk assessment and zones/conduits (IEC 62443-3-2)
- Data flow diagrams
- Threat identification and rating
- Integration into development cycles
- Exercise: 62443-3-2 applied
We then cover product and service provider roles:
- Service provider requirements (IEC 62443-2-4)
