Are you ready to handle cyber incidents?

Is your organization ready to handle a cyber attack? Do you have the tools, processes, contracts, and people in place to respond quickly and effectively? Can you deal with the aftermath? If you are not sure, you may benefit from this Forensic and Incident Readiness Assessment.

During this assessment, we evaluate your organization’s ability to handle and recover from a cyber incident adequately. We also determine whether you have the appropriate logging in place so that you don't lose valuable digital evidence in the case of an attack.

YOUR CHALLENGES

  • Do you know where to find crucial information during an attack?
  • Are your logfiles and security events sufficient to support incident responders and forensic investigators?
  • Have you established an incident response plan that meets the criteria of applicable regulations, like NIS2 and DORA?
  • How do you ensure your organization is ready to handle a cyber-attack?
  • How do you assign responsibilities to staff, in case of an attack, for effective governance?
  • Do you know which stakeholders and regulators need to be informed and when?

HOW WE SUPPORT YOU

Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity helps large and medium sized organizations all over the world raise their cyber resilience. We know the importance of being ready for incident response and forensic investigations, and we know how to do this. You don’t want to wait until disaster strikes.

  • We help you make sure that you have the correct digital evidence (logging)
Who is responsible for collecting and analyzing evidence? How is evidence stored and protected? How is evidence shared and disclosed? We assess how your organization handles this, by reviewing your infrastructure and governance structure. You receive advice on the implementation of the appropriate tools and techniques for forensic readiness, such as logging systems, network monitoring devices, digital forensics software, and encryption methods.
  • We assess your processes and technical infrastructure
A gap-analysis is performed based on an extensive question list, and one or more workshops in which we dive into the details of your organisation and your IR processes. During the workshop participants provide information and we map this against industry best practices and our experience to be able to identify the gap.
  • We provide concrete and relevant recommendations for improvement
We draft a report providing actionable recommendations for improvement. This will greatly help you and the incident responders in case of an actual incident. The report is also used as onboarding of our Incident Response PRO service, if you have also purchased an Incident Respone PRO retainer with Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity.

WHAT TO EXPECT

01

Review and gap analysis

Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity conducts a review of your organization's current incident response capabilities, policies, procedures, and technical controls. We identify gaps in your incident response process. Also, we give you recommendations for improvement, based on probability and impact.

02

Onboarding for Incident Response Pro

We document all pertinent information, so that in the case of a real incident, responders can easily access the important files and systems in order to be effective and efficient in fighting off attacks.

03

Summary Report and recommendations

You receive a detailed report summarizing the readiness assessment and providing a gap-analysis. It includes recommendations for improvement and a concrete action plan.

04

Optional follow-up steps

After your assessment, it makes sense to test your implemented Incident Response plans. There are several ways to do this:

  • The first is to emulate a cyber incident, with real, but controlled scenarios. This is part of our SOC/SIEM testing service.
  • The second is through an actual Red Teaming exercise. The security posture of your organization is challenged from a real attacker's standpoint. We actually try to reach the ‘crown jewels’. See our Red Teaming service for more information.
  • Finally, a tabletop exercise for executives or management can be extremely helpful in preparing for an incident.
