Leadership Transition: Erwin Jansen Appointed Managing Director Europe at Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity

Today marks an important milestone for Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity. At this year’s Summer Gathering, Dirk Jan van den Heuvel passed the role of Managing Director Europe to Erwin Jansen. Dirk Jan will continue as Strategic Director, focusing on long-term decisions around our service portfolio, organizational structure, M&A, and hiring. These are all aimed at building Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity into a global, stronger center of excellence.

About Dirk Jan

For more than eight years, Dirk Jan led our team as Managing Director. He built a successful, professional organization by growing expertise, expanding services, and fostering both client and employee satisfaction. His mission has been to make security more tangible, measurable, and comparable, rooted in international standards and certification schemes. With his vision and entrepreneurial mindset, he guided Secura through its acquisition by Bureau Veritas in 2021 and laid the foundation for what is now Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity.

Meet Erwin Jansen

Erwin is an entrepreneurial leader who joined Secura in 2018. His first focus was to expand the scope of Secura on security management (GRC), human resilience (awareness & behavior) and product security (certifications). He also has led our Public Sector business, serving government, healthcare, and education clients. Earlier in his career, he built and managed international business units at Collis and UL and headed global operations at UL’s Transaction Security division. Erwin brings a strong track record in leading advisory, testing, and security services, and is well-positioned to lead Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity Europe into its next phase.

Looking ahead

Since July 1, we operate as Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity, uniting Secura (Netherlands) and Security Innovation (US). With Erwin as Managing Director Europe and Dirk Jan continuing as Strategic Director, we are ready to grow as a global cybersecurity leader.
