Offensive Security Specialist Defense & Safety

Our Defense & Safety team is looking for an Offensive Security Specialist. We support and advise the Ministry of Defense, the Police, the Ministry of Justice, and other organizations in the national and international security domain on their information security challenges. We understand the challenges like no other, because the Defense & Safety team consists largely of people who have gained experience at such organizations themselves. As a result, we speak our clients’ language and understand the context of the challenging assignments we undertake.

As a security specialist with us, no two days are the same. You’ll be able to fully utilize your “hacker” mindset and creativity in diverse projects for various clients, sometimes at unique locations both domestically and abroad. Depending on your experience and interests, you can contribute to technical projects such as hardware and software investigations or reverse engineering assignments. You can also contribute to projects such as helping to develop an organization-wide cybersecurity program.

Here, you’ll work alongside colleagues with extensive experience in carrying out projects for the Ministry of Defense, the Police, the Justice Department, and other organizations in the national and international security sector. This means you can learn a great deal from your colleagues. In addition, you’ll have every opportunity to take training courses and earn certifications.

What you’ll be performing:

• Testing systems, networks, and applications;
• Advising clients on improving information security;
• Coordinating complex technical projects;
• Writing reports on the tests conducted;
• Carrying out Cyber R&D projects, in which you will actively participate;
• Managing and mentoring junior colleagues and interns.

You have:

• Work experience in the defense sector;
• Experience with penetration testing, hardware hacking, reverse engineering, incident response, digital forensics, security research & development, and/or red teaming;
• Demonstrable technical skills through certifications such as OSCP, OSEP, OSWE;
• Knowledge of frameworks such as ABDO, CMMC, and NATO standards;
• You have or are eligible for VGB screening levels C, B, or A;
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in both Dutch and English;
• Flexible work attitude outside regular office hours and willingness to travel to clients, including potential overnight stays.

We offer:

• Compensation: a gross salary between €3.600,- and €6.700,- per month based on fulltime employment and depending on your skills, educational background and work experience
• Connectivity allowance: a fixed net allowance of €100,- per month (based on a 40-hour workweek) for internet and telephone.
• Employee vitality: we realise that exercise boosts health, mood, and concentration so we support it with a €30 contribution out of your gross monthly salary (tax efficient!) with choices of sports subscriptions via Bedrijfsfitness NL.
• Holidays: 28 days (based on a 40-hour work week) and the option to buy 10 extra holidays.
• Hybrid working: remote working and working abroad policy. You can work from another country for a maximum of 2 months per calendar year.
• Mobility: our mobility policy offers flexible options designed to make commuting and business travel efficient, fair, and cost-conscious. Depending on your position there are three regulations for traveling: the Mobility Standard Regulation, the Mobility Plus Regulation and, in exceptional cases, the Lease Car Regulation.
• Pension: each month, the employee and BV Cyber commit respectively 5% and 6% of the pensionable salary individually, totalling 11%, to be invested in a life cycle fund. In addition to the standard contributions made by BV Cyber and the employee, there is also flexibility to opt for voluntary additional contributions on a monthly or yearly basis.
• Performance bonus: this a reflection of the individual achievements and performance and the profit of the company throughout the previous year. The bonus can amount to a month's salary.
