AI Project Manager

Are you an organizational talent with a keen interest in AI, and do you get energy from making things happen? Do you enjoy keeping oversight of a portfolio of projects while arranging everything needed to move them forward? Then we are looking for you!

For our CTO Office, we are looking for an AI Project Manager based in Amsterdam for a minimum of 32 hours per week.

In this role, you work directly with our Chief Technology Officer (CTO), who owns the AI vision and strategy, sets priorities and is ultimately responsible. You connect everyone around that vision: the business units, who hold the needs (often still unarticulated); the AI Lead, who drives ideation; the Product Engineering Manager, who leads the Product Development team; and that team of developers, who build the solutions.

AI is at the top of the CTO Office's agenda: developments, pilots, and projects that are changing both the way we work and the services we deliver to our clients. You keep this portfolio moving, and you make sure the CTO Office runs like clockwork.

Job description

Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity helps organizations strengthen their digital resilience. AI is rapidly changing our field, our services, and the way we work. Under the leadership of the CTO, AI initiatives run throughout the organization: from internal tooling and service innovation to development projects delivered by our Product Development team, which builds software following the Agile methodology.

As AI Project Manager, you are the driving force behind the CTO's AI portfolio. You maintain the overview across all AI projects, monitor progress and milestones, flag risks and dependencies, and make sure that agreed actions actually happen. You translate between the CTO, the business units, and the development teams, and you keep the portfolio transparent through clear reporting.

Making things happen does not stop at the projects themselves. You prepare priority decisions for the CTO and help to guard priorities that have been set. You are the first point of contact for the CTO Office, and you anticipate what is needed before it is asked.

You will not be doing the technical work yourself, but you understand enough of it to follow the conversation: you know what a sprint is, you can read a backlog and have a keen interest in AI.

What will you do?

  • Maintain oversight of the AI project portfolio across the business units: status, milestones, dependencies, and risks.
  • Monitor progress, follow up on agreed actions with project owners, and escalate to the CTO where needed.
  • Coordinate between the CTO, business unit stakeholders, the AI Lead, the Product Engineering Manager and the Product Development team, connecting with their Agile way of working (roadmaps, backlogs, sprint reviews).
  • Draft reports and decision documents that keep the AI portfolio transparent for the CTO and the management team.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the CTO Office: triage incoming CTO Office requests, sequence and prioritize them and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Take on ad-hoc assignments end-to-end, from organizing an internal AI event to helping to prepare a group-level presentation.
  • Actively contribute to the professionalization and optimization of the processes within the CTO Office.

Who are you?

  • You have several years of experience in project management or project coordination, preferably in a role close to (senior) management.
  • You are familiar with the Agile way of working (Scrum, sprints, backlogs), well enough to collaborate effectively with software development teams; certification is not required.
  • You work in a structured and accurate manner and keep the overview, even when multiple projects and requests are running in parallel.
  • You are proactive to the point of anticipation: you signal what is needed before it is asked, and you arrange it.
  • You communicate easily at every level, from developers to group management, and you know how to get things done with and through others.
  • You handle confidential information with professionalism and absolute discretion.
  • You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • Experience within an IT, consultancy, AI or cybersecurity environment is considered an advantage.

What can you expect from us?

Impactful growth: At Bureau Veritas Cybersecurity, you will work in an environment where trust, expertise and social impact are key. We believe you can really make a difference when you are given the space to deepen your knowledge and actively contribute to a more secure digital society.
